Self-Excited Walking of a Biped Mechanism with Feet

چکیده
In this paper we present a theoretical and experimental study of the self-excited walking of a biped mechanism with knees and feet on level ground. This biped mechanism possesses a single motor at the hip joint and active lock mechanisms at both knee joints. We first show that the self-excitation control enables the three-degrees-of-freedom planar biped model with feet to walk on level ground, and that a stable walking locomotion is possible over a wide range of feedback gain and a foot radius of up to 0.3 m. Subsequently, we describe the manufactured biped Robot 2 which is similar to the analytical model and we show that the biped robot can perform natural dynamic walking on a level floor. It is also shown that the simulated results agree well with the experimental results. We further describe the wireless-controlled biped Robot 3, which can walk on a level floor carrying batteries and electronic circuits inside the thighs. Self-Excited Walking of a Biped Mechanism
This paper present a self-excited walking of a fourlink biped mechanism which possesses an actuated hip joint and passive knee joints. First we manifested that this self-excitation control enables 3-DOF planar biped model to walk on a level ground, by numerical simulation. Next we showed experimental study of a manufactured planar biped walking robot. We demonstrated that stable walking can be ...
متن کاملDesign Of A Robust Self Excited Biped Walking Mechanism
A self-excited biped walking mechanism consisting of two legs that are connected in series at the hip joint through a servomotor is studied to determine range of stability. A torque proportional to angle between the shank and the vertical is seen to sustain a gait. Each leg has a thigh and a shank connected at a passive knee joint that has a knee stopper restricting the forward motion like the ...
متن کاملEfficient dynamic bipedal walking using effects of semicircular feet
SUMMARY Achieving energy-efficient and high-speed dynamic walking has become one of the main subjects of research in the area of robotic biped locomotion, and passive dynamic walking has attracted a great deal of attention as a solution to this. It is empirically known that the convex curve of the foot, which characterizes passive–dynamic walkers, has an important effect on increasing the walki...
متن کاملFoot Placement Modification for a Biped Humanoid Robot with Narrow Feet
This paper describes a walking stabilization control for a biped humanoid robot with narrow feet. Most humanoid robots have larger feet than human beings to maintain their stability during walking. If robot's feet are as narrow as humans, it is difficult to realize a stable walk by using conventional stabilization controls. The proposed control modifies a foot placement according to the robot's...
متن کاملCompliant ankles and flat feet for improved self-stabilization and passive dynamics of the biped robot "RunBot"
Biomechanical studies of human walking reveal that compliance plays an important role at least in natural and smooth motions as well as for self-stabilization. Inspired by this, we present here the development of a new lower leg segment of the dynamic biped robot “RunBot”. This new lower leg segment features a compliant ankle connected to a flat foot. It is mainly employed to realize robust sel...
